Pull Chin
How do I start doing chin ups / pull ups, if I can not hardly make one?
I just started to go to the gym yesterday. I ran in 15 minutes to get warmed up, was about 20 push ups, and then tried to do a chin up or pull up ... I could only keep myself in a few seconds, and then I would just hang like an idiot ... How can I keep myself enough to atleast DO1 or even 2 to correct them?
Some fitness centers have assisted pull up machines. Look for a very large machine that has a knee pad or bar to stand on and a stack of weights. Those with knee pads look like: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/exercises.asp?exercise=272 What these machines allow you to do is to do push-ups with only a part of your body weight. Whatever weight you choose from the weight stack is the sum it would "remove" from your body weight. Find a weight that just allows you to do a few push-ups and work from there. That is what helped me!
